Planting Trees for the Queen's Jubilee - Federal Grant
The Federal Government has announced a grant opportunity to coincide with the Queen's Jubilee, celebrated in 2022.
Grants of between $2,500 - $20,000 are available to government schools, local government organisations and incorporated not-for-profit organisations to plant trees in recognition of the Jubilee year.
Applications are now open and will close at 5pm, Friday 25th March.
Eligible activities under the grant include:
- tree planting and site preparation activities;
- installation of fencing, stakes, tree guards;
- installation of drip irrigation;
- project design and management.
As a requirement of the grant, projects must include signage/a plaque recognising the plantings are part of the Queen's Jubilee. Projects must also include at least one formal commemorative event in 2022 to mark the Jubilee.
Trees planted must be regionally appropriate, grow to a height of 2 metres or more at maturity, and can be planted at one or more sites.
