Australia’s skills training sector is vital – for the livelihoods of working people and for the health of our economy.
With the nature of work changing rapidly, and our economy expanding beyond traditional forms of work, it is important now more than ever that our skills training sector is properly funded and resourced.
As Shadow Assistant Minister for Skills, I’m working hard to put TAFE at the centre of our skills training industry, and am committed to putting VET on an equal footing with University. I understand the value of apprenticeships, and will work hard to ensure that apprenticeship places are available to our young people across Australia.
Under the Coalition our skills training sector has been left to crumble – Labor is committed to revitalising skills training in Australia and to holding the Coalition to account on their mismanagement of this vital sector.
