Labor is doing more than ever to help the environment. We’re protecting more of our natural world, fixing more of what’s been damaged and working hard to care for the places we love to make sure future generations can enjoy Australia's natural environment.

This is what action looks like:
- We've put net zero emissions into law, and ticked off enough renewable energy projects to power almost 7 million homes
- Carbon pollution is down 2.9 million tonnes from last year
- We’re electrifying everything that can be electrified, powering it with renewables, batteries, pumped hydro, and hydrogen—creating thousands of jobs across our regions
- We're increasing recycling by more than 1.3 million tonnes
- We’ve protected 95 million hectares of land and sea – bigger than Germany and Italy combined!
- Introduced New Vehicle Efficiency Standards – reducing transport emissions by more than 60% by 2030, and save motorists $95 billion in fuel costs by 2050.
Protecting more of our natural world. Fixing more of what's been damaged. And working hard to care for the places we love.

We have a responsibility to protect our environment, not just for us, but for future generations.
Labor is committed to leaving a legacy of sustainability, clean energy, and a healthier planet for everyone.
No Australian Government has done more for the environment and climate.
Labor knows that after a decade of Coalition inaction, time is precious in leaving our natural environment in a better state for future generations to enjoy.
That's why we're working to deliver stronger environmental powers and faster environment approvals.
But we're not stopping there: Australia will get its first national Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), with strong powers and penalties to better enforce federal laws
