Getting the care you need, when you need it, should never depend on your bank balance. That’s why I’m so proud that the Albanese Labor Government is delivering bulk-billed Urgent Care Clinics—providing free, high-quality medical care without the long waits or high costs.

For too long, our hospitals and hardworking healthcare workers have been stretched to the limit. People who just need stitches, an X-ray, or urgent treatment for a minor injury shouldn’t have to wait in an emergency department for hours. That’s where Urgent Care Clinics come in.

What Are Urgent Care Clinics?

Urgent Care Clinics (UCCs) are Medicare-funded, bulk-billed clinics that treat urgent but non-life-threatening conditions. Instead of heading to the emergency department for things like a deep cut, a bad burn, a sprain, or an infection, you can go to an Urgent Care Clinic and get seen by a doctor or nurse—free of charge.

What This Means for You

No out-of-pocket costs – 100% bulk-billed through Medicare.
Less pressure on emergency departments – so hospitals can focus on critical cases.
Fast treatment for urgent issues – without sitting in ED for hours.
More access to doctors and nurses when you need them most.

Bringing Care Closer to Home

Right here in Cooper and across Victoria, Labor is delivering these game-changing clinics, making sure families, workers, and older Australians can access care without worrying about the cost.

The Liberals ran down our healthcare system for nearly a decade—gutting Medicare, underpaying nurses, and leaving hospitals overwhelmed. Labor is fixing the mess they left behind.

This is what good government looks like: practical policies that help people, save money, and make our healthcare system stronger.

Labor created Medicare. Labor is protecting Medicare. And Labor is making it stronger than ever.
