Ged Kearney, the Member for Cooper, today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will support upgrades to the Darusalam Community Centre.

This $50,000 election commitment will support upgrades to the security and infrastructure of the building. This will include fixing a leaking roof that is causing water damage, a deteriorating rear fence and updating their security systems to ensure the continued protection of the centre.

The centre plays an integral part in providing a supportive environment for the community to gather, as well as providing support to access essential services and programs for the Somali Australian community.

These upgrades will enable them to continue the vital work they do to support the community.  

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
